Port & Sea View

Directly overlooking the picturesque harbour of Villanova the modern and simple-style apartment Port & Sea View awaits its guests. It is located on the first floor of a building, originally built in the 1920’s. Some months ago, the owner of the dwelling, an architect, completely renovated this holiday home.

The living area consists of a room which functions both as a living area and as a bedroom, furnished with a red extendable sofa-bed, so saving precious space; there is also a flatscreen TV and a wardrobe. The dining table has its seats situated in an ideal way in front of the balcony. From here one can see the blue sea and can observe the comings and goings and the authentic life of the harbour village.

Also the cooking area has been made from scratch. It is equipped with a fridge, a hob with two gas rings, crockery and all of the essential items. After sunbathing and a refreshing dip in the crystalline sea, one can make use of the shower which has been decorated with pebbles of green mosaic. The apartment also offers hot and cold air-conditioning which means that it can be used even in autumn and winter months.

Via an internal staircase one can reach the terrace which naturally is for the sole use of the apartment Port & Sea View. The terrace was added as part of the renovation. The sun beds are of a soothing blue colour and promise rest and relaxation. From here one can enjoy a wonderful view of the sea and the bay of the harbour. The view extends from the old harbour castle , a 14th century fortress, that at one time served as a look-out tower, to the fishing vessels and leisure craft that present an interesting scene. The terrace invites one to enjoy a nice aperitif in the open air with a view of the sea as well as candlelit dinners

Villanova, the old fishing village, has retained its original character. Here one can still observe the fishermen who return from the sea in their boats and after fishing, beat their octopuses against the rocks, so that they can be prepared well in the kitchen. Fresh fish can also be bought in one of the local fishmongers, or alternatively can be sampled in the evening at one of the eating-places of the harbour.

The sea is just 50 metres away. One can sunbathe on one of the large flat rocks near the entrance channel for the boats of the harbour, swimming is recommended at one of the neighbouring bays at Villanova-Camerini, Diana Marina or the beach at Pilone.

The charming White City of Ostuni is just a few minutes away by car.
