Pescoluse is one of the most beautiful beaches in Puglia. It is not for nothing that this stretch of coast is called the Maldives of Salento. Imagine distant and exotic beaches; beaches of fine white sand that slope gently into the turquoise sea. A dream paradise with islets rising from the sea; Dunes with magnificent vegetation of flowering brooms, acacias and white lilies. This is Pescoluse.
Beach holiday in Pescoluse
Pescoluse promises you a unique beach holiday in Puglia. Pescoluse beach is the longest on the Salento coast; pure white sand that seems to change color depending on the sunlight. The seaside resort owes the Blue Flag to its crystal clear sea and its beautiful coast. Pescoluse, with its flat beaches, is obviously also ideal for families with children. There are beach bars, fish restaurants, pizzerias, small shops and bike rental. Behind the beaches you will discover rolling hills on which attractive Mediterranean holiday homes with panoramic terraces are nestled, framed by olive groves and the typical Mediterranean scrub, wild and fragrant Mediterranean herbs. A holiday in Puglia like in a book. Here in the south of Salento you can still find summer temperatures and good beach weather in autumn and late autumn. So why not extend the summer a little longer and book another week in Puglia for September or October?
The environment
Pescoluse belongs to the municipality of Salve, from which it is only 1.5 km away and where there are supermarkets. In the nearby villages of Torre Vado, Morciano di Leuca and Presicce you will also find other shops, groceries and pharmacies. From Torre Vado it is also possible to take boat excursions in the surrounding area. A few minutes' drive from Pescoluse is Torre Pali, where the remains of an ancient Spanish tower emerge from the water.
If you choose your holiday accommodation in Pescoluse or in the surrounding area, you obviously cannot miss a visit to nearby Santa Maria di Leuca. The enchanting town on the southern tip of Italy – where the Adriatic and Ionian Seas merge at Punta Ristola – is characterized by imposing, ancient Art Nouveau villas, a splendid seafront and a picturesque harbour.
Also worth seeing are the beautiful city of Gallipoli (kali polis from Greek), the baroque city of Lecce, and Otranto, the easternmost city in Italy.
